Allah-Rakha Rahman is an Indian composer, singer-songwriter, music producer, musician, multi-instrumentalist and philanthropist Described as the world's most prominent and prolific film composer by Time, his works are notable for integrating Eastern classical music with electronic music sounds, world music genres and traditional orchestral arrangements.
A two time winner of the Academy Award, Oscar, and innumerable other awards, A.R. Rahman is popularly known as the man who has redefined contemporary Indian music. With a career spanning 20 years and having sold more than 300 million records of more than 100 film soundtracks and albums across half a dozen languages, he is one of the worlds all time top selling recording artistes. Referred to as the Mozart of Madras, Described as the world's most prominent and prolific film composer by Time Magazine, they had also named him one of the 100 most influential people on the planet in 2009. The UK based World Music magazine Songlines named him one of Tomorrow's World Music Icons in August 2011.
